Coventry United goalkeeper Jodie Whiteman has joined FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division club Boldmere St Michaels on loan.
The Red and Greens announced the news this morning via a post on their official club Twitter account.
It has been reported that Whiteman will spend the remainder of the season with the Midlands club. The player is currently out of the picture at parent club Coventry United with head coach Lee Burch having preferred to field goalkeepers brought into the club on loan.
Whiteman has made six appearances for Coventry United in the Barclays Women’s Championship this season, most of which came before the turn of the year. The likes of Safia Middleton-Patel, Demi Lambourne and Khiara Keating have since turned out for the Warwickshire club with Coventry United making effective use of the loan market.
Former Coventry United boss Jay Bradford handed Whiteman her senior debut in a FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup group fixture at Durham in 2020/2021. Whiteman came on as a substitute in that match, replacing club legend Sue Wood. Minutes have been hard to come by in the seasons that have followed and the youngster needs to build her experience to progress.
Whiteman could make her Boldmere St Michaels debut when they host fellow FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division strugglers Loughborough Lightning on Sunday.
