Influential Everton midfielder Hope pens new deal

Everton midfielder Lucy Hope has signed a new contract with the club which will run until summer 2025.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blue Girls this afternoon.

Hope joined Everton from Bristol City in summer 2019. Since making the move to Merseyside, the Scotland international has never looked back. She has played an instrumental role in the Everton midfield, bringing energy and a keen eye for goals. Hope has made 56 appearances for The Blue Girls in the Barclays Women’s Super League in which she has scored 10 goals. The midfielder will now be looking to continue her contribution over the next two seasons.

After signing her new deal with Everton, Hope said “I’m absolutely delighted to extend my stay. I think the way the Club and team are going at the minute, it is such an exciting time to be here and be involved.

“Brian (Sørensen) came up to me quite early this season and was keen to have me stay. I think as a player that is obviously encouraging. To put pen to paper now, I’m just ready to get the next chapter going.”

Everton and Hope continue the 2022/2023 season with a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Chelsea on Sunday 7 May.
