Leicester City midfielder Robinson pens first professional deal

Leicester City midfielder Monique Robinson has signed her first professional contract with the Barclays Women’s Super League club.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes this afternoon.

The 18-year-old has come through the academy system at Leicester City and she now finds herself embedded within the first team environment. Robinson has made seven appearances for The Foxes in all competitions this season, scoring one goal. The player has a big future ahead of her and Leicester City will be pleased to have tied her down on professional terms.

After signing her first professional contract, Robinson said “I am buzzing. This is something I’ve been dreaming of since I was a little kid. The Academy have been massive for my development. Playing against other WSL academies has helped me prepare for the step up into the senior environment.

“Having a shared development plan between the First-Team and the Academy has allowed me to develop in areas that I need to develop in. For the rest of the season, I just want to be there for the team, whether that’s on the pitch or off the pitch.”

With her long-term future now decided, Robinson will hope to play a further part in Leicester City’s battle for survival in the Barclays Women’s Super League in the coming weeks.
