The final day of the Barclays Women’s Super League season brings a crucial match for two clubs with relegation-threatened Reading hosting champions-in-waiting Chelsea at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Kelly Chambers’ Royals must cause a huge upset and win the game to have any chance of survival while Chelsea are likely to be a minimum of one point away from securing a fourth consecutive Barclays Women’s Super League title.
Reading manager Chambers is not thought to have any fresh injury concerns ahead of her side’s season-defining match. Goalkeeper Jackie Burns and defender Becky Jane continue to be sidelined while there are no positive updates on the fitness of Rachel Rowe or Lily Woodham. Forward Deanne Rose is again available to play some minutes after recovering from a long-term injury.
Chelsea manager Emma Hayes continues to be without the services of long-term absentees Millie Bright and Fran Kirby. Hayes is hoping that Bright will recover in time to be involved with England at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 in July.
The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Reading and Chelsea is scheduled to kick-off at 2.30pm on Saturday afternoon. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
