Arsenal retain services of highly-rated teenage trio

Arsenal trio Michelle Agyemang, Freya Godfrey and Naomi Williams have all dedicated their futures to the club.

The Gunners issued an official press release this morning which confirms that all three players have agreed to sign professional deals with the club.

Godfrey and Williams have both signed their first professional terms with Arsenal while Agyemang will do the same on her 18th birthday in February. Agyemang has been with The Gunners since she was just six years of age while Godfrey and Williams have both been on the club’s books since their early teens.

After retaining the services of the highly-rated young trio, Arsenal’s Head of Women’s Football, Clare Wheatley said “We’re delighted that Michelle, Freya and Naomi have all put pen to paper on professional terms with us. We’re proud of the number of players that have come through our academy system over the years and gone on to have successful careers at Arsenal and elsewhere in the game.

“With hard work, consistency and dedication, this group now has the opportunity to shape their future and emulate some of the players who have gone from the youth system to wearing the red and white at senior level.”

Agyemang and Godfrey both made their senior debuts with Arsenal this season while Williams was named amongst the substitutes on a couple of occasions.
