Birmingham City complete permanent signing of midfielder Devlin

Birmingham City have completed the signing of midfielder Charlie Devlin on a two-year deal.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues earlier today.

Devlin re-joins Birmingham City on a permanent basis following her release by former club Leicester City. The player previously spent time on loan with the Blues last season. Devlin made 26 appearances for Birmingham City in all competitions while she scored three goals. The player helped Darren Carter’s side finish the 2022/2023 campaign in second position in the Barclays Women’s Championship table.

With Birmingham City targeting a return to the Barclays Women’s Super League in the near future, Devlin is a perfect fit for the club. She has already won the Barclays Women’s Championship title twice in her career. The midfielder was a member of the Manchester United side that were champions in 2018/2019 before she later helped Leicester City to promotion to the top tier in 2020/2021. Devlin will now be hoping to complete a Barclays Women’s Championship title treble with Birmingham City.

Birmingham City head coach Carter has now added two new players to his squad this summer. The Blues boss also completed the signing of utility player Ellie Mason earlier this week.
