Blackburn Rovers will receive increased support from the club this season with a minimum of four games to be played at Ewood Park.
The Lancashire club announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Blackburn Rovers played two of their Barclays Women’s Championship matches in BB2 last season with both games pulling in healthy crowds. The club are doubling their commitment to their women’s team this season with at least four of their 11 games in the Barclays Women’s Championship being staged at the venue.
Speaking following the announcement, Blackburn Rovers Women’s general manager, Ellis Clark said “Growing and engaging our fanbase is highly important to us and we recognise our supporters as an absolute fundamental piece of what we are trying to achieve as Blackburn Rovers Women.
“There has been plenty of discussion within the club over the past two months around further deepening that connection with our fans.
“We identified spectators being able to watch their team perform at an elite, meaningful, welcoming, and accessible set of facilities as a key component not just within a Rovers matchday, but our people’s overall experience as a Rovers fan.
“Today’s news is a great step towards achieving a strong fan experience that our people are proud to be a part of.”
Blackburn Rovers will also play home matches at The Lancashire FA County Ground in Leyland during the 2023/2024 season.
