Crystal Palace have completed the signing of former Bristol City full-back Lia Cataldo on a free transfer.
The Eagles announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Cataldo spent two seasons with former club Bristol City before leaving the South West at the end of last season. The defender made 36 appearances for The Robins in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
The 22-year-old holds an impressive CV at Barclays Women’s Championship level. She has helped two clubs to win promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League. Cataldo was a title-winner with Leicester City in 2020/2021 before repeating the feat with Bristol City last season. The player will now have her eyes set on a third promotion with new club Crystal Palace.
After joining the South Londoners, Cataldo said “I’m really excited to get started. The girls have made me feel so welcome and there are great facilities here – I’m settling in already. I feel like it’s going to be a big year to kick on for Palace.
“I feel like this team can achieve a lot. There is just so much potential here, and I’m excited to see what will happen.”
Cataldo becomes Crystal Palace’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
