Birmingham City midfielder Harrison-Murray signs new deal

Birmingham City midfielder Christie Harrison-Murray has signed a new two-year deal with the club ahead of the 2023/2024 season.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this morning.

Harrison-Murray has spent the last three seasons with Birmingham City after joining the club in summer 2020. The Scotland international has made 53 league appearances for The Blues in which she has scored three goals. The midfielder was heavily involved for Darren Carter’s side last season as the club narrowly missed out on promotion back to the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Birmingham City will need experienced players like Harrison-Murray to help them mount a renewed title-challenge this season therefore her contract extension is good news for the club.

After signing on again at St Andrew’s, Harrison-Murray said “I feel like I’m part of the family now. Darren (Carter) and Jo (Potter) did a lot of work in recruiting good people and that was important for me.

“I like the fact that we are wanting to play now, and I’m just enjoying my football which is the main thing.”

Blues fans will notice the player’s change of name this season. Harrison-Murray celebrated her marriage during the close season.
