Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Manchester United midfielder Grace Clinton on a season-long loan deal.
The Lilywhites announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this morning.
Clinton joined parent club Manchester United from Everton last summer. She spent the first six months at Manchester United getting used to the surroundings before being loaned out to Bristol City in the second half of the season. Clinton scored six goals in 12 appearances for The Robins, helping the club to seal promotion back to the Barclays Women’s Super League.
With the player having enjoyed a successful spell in the South West, Manchester United boss Marc Skinner hinted that Clinton would be a part of his squad again this season, however, that will not be the case. The midfielder will further her development in North London with Robert Vilahamn’s Spurs.
Clinton becomes Vilahamn’s second signing since being appointed Spurs’ new head coach earlier this summer. The Lilywhites have also added Swiss international defender Luana Bühler to their squad. Six players left Spurs at the end of last season therefore new boss Vilahamn is expected to continue to put his stamp on the squad in the coming weeks.
