Barcelona and Brazilian international forward Geyse has completed a move to Manchester United.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Red Devils this morning.
Geyse has been heavily linked with a move to The Leigh Sports Village all summer. Manchester United were thought to have earmarked the player as their first-choice replacement for outgoing forward Alessia Russo who recently joined Arsenal. The club have now finally got their target.
The 25-year-old has spent the last seven years playing her football in the Spanish finetwork Liga F. Geyse spent six of those years with Madrid CFF before joining Barcelona last summer. Geyse was a treble winner with Barcelona in 2023/2024. She netted 11 goals in 37 appearances for the Spanish club in all competitions last season, helping them to win the UEFA Women’s Champions League, finetwork Liga F and the Super Cup.
After completing her move to Manchester United, Geyse said “I am very happy to be here. Signing for United has been a very special day for me and my family. I am very grateful for this opportunity and thank everyone for making it happen.”
Geyse becomes Manchester United boss Skinner’s second signing of the summer transfer window following the recent addition of defender Gemma Evans.
