Former forward Jodie Taylor has returned to Arsenal to take up a new off-field role.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this afternoon.
It has been reported that Taylor has agreed to take up the position of Football Services Executive. She will work closely with Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley and the Arsenal Women football staff to continue to grow the profile of the team.
As a player, Taylor enjoyed two spells with Arsenal. She first represented the club between 2016 and 2017 before returning to North London for a short spell in the second half of last season. Taylor announced her retirement from playing in September. She enjoyed a 21-year playing career.
After taking up her new position with Arsenal, Taylor said “I’m really excited to be returning to Arsenal and taking on this new role. I’m looking forward to working with Jonas (Eidevall), Clare and the football leadership team across the club, as well as providing a link between the players and staff. I love how well-respected and supported our women’s team is and I’m excited to continue to drive the high-performance culture within the club.”
Taylor re-joins Arsenal at a time when the club are flourishing off the pitch. On the pitch, they will be hoping to build on last season’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup success.
