Manchester United’s final game of the 2023/2024 Barclays Women’s Super League season against Chelsea will be staged at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
The game will be Manchester United’s second to be staged at ‘The Theatre of Dreams’ this season. Marc Skinner’s side also faced neighbours Manchester City at Old Trafford last month. That game attracted a record crowd for a Manchester United Women fixture of 43,615.
The Red Devils will be hoping to attract another huge crowd when the current Barclays Women’s Super League champions come to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Speaking following this afternoon’s announcement, Polly Bancroft, Manchester United’s Head of Women’s Football, said “Playing at Old Trafford is always special for everyone connected with Manchester United Women.
“We are fully committed to driving the long-term growth of the team, and a key element of that is making Old Trafford a second home by consistently attracting large crowds and delivering a great experience for our fans.
“The appetite for women’s football couldn’t be more apparent and hosting this fixture against Chelsea at Old Trafford will be another great occasion for women’s football.”
Manchester United’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Chelsea at Old Trafford is scheduled to take place on 18 May 2024. Tickets are now on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
