Former Charlton Athletic midfielder Roche joins Lewes

Lewes have completed the signing of midfielder Lois Roche on a free transfer.

The Rooks announced news of the deal via a communication to their owners this evening.

Roche is a hugely experienced player. After spending her youth on the books of both Arsenal and Chelsea, the midfielder started her senior career at Reading. She then played her football in Finland, Italy and Norway before joining latest club Charlton Athletic in 2021.

Roche made 33 appearances for The Addicks in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she scored one goal. She left Charlton Athletic at the end of last month upon the expiry of her contract with the South East Londoners. The player will now continue her career in the Barclays Women’s Championship with new club Lewes.

After completing her move to The Dripping Pan, Roche said “It’s a great feeling to finally be here. I’m looking forward to helping the team for the second half of the season.

“It’s a new role for me, I’ve never been one of the older players in the squad, but I’m looking forward to it.

“It’s a young squad but it’s an exciting squad, really good players individually.”

Roche becomes Lewes head coach Scott Booth’s second signing of the January transfer window.
