Bristol City forward Woolley joins Reading on loan

Bristol City forward Jesse Woolley has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Reading on loan until the end of the season.

The Royals announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Woolley has spent her entire senior career to date with Bristol City. The player has made 37 appearances for The Robins in league competition in which she has scored one goal. Woolley made 16 of her league appearances last season as Bristol City won the Barclays Women’s Championship title.

The youngster has struggled for minutes at Bristol City this season and she will now be hoping to play an important role for loan club Reading.

After joining The Royals, Woolley said “I would like to become a better player, focusing on the areas I need to work on, and also contribute to the team’s success. I’m a direct and forward-thinking player who values defensive duties.

“I’ll do my very best for you guys and hopefully contribute with a few goals.”

Woolley becomes Reading manager Liam Gilbert’s first signing of the January transfer window. The Berkshire club remain a little light on both numbers and experience and they could dip into the transfer market again this month to make further additions.
