Liverpool midfielder Taylor joins Aston Villa on loan

Liverpool midfielder Miri Taylor has joined Barclays Women’s Super League rivals Aston Villa on a loan deal until the end of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this morning. Aston Villa beat last night’s 11pm transfer deadline to land the player.

Taylor spent her youth on the books of both Arsenal and Chelsea. She made a couple of senior appearances for the latter club before moving to the United States to combine playing football with her studies. During her time Stateside, she represented Hofstra Pride in the American college system.

Upon the completion of her studies, Taylor enjoyed a short spell with Angel City before joining Liverpool 12 months’ ago. In her time on Merseyside, Taylor has made 12 appearances for Liverpool in the Barclays Women’s Super League in which she has scored one goal. The player has struggled to nail down a starting spot in Matt Beard’s side this season and she has now moved to Aston Villa in a bid to get more football.

Taylor joins Aston Villa as a short-term replacement for fellow midfielder Laura Blindkilde Brown who joined Manchester City on a permanent deal late last night.
