Arsenal ready to perform against Manchester United at sold out Emirates says Eidevall

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall says that his team are ready to ‘bring the performance’ ahead of their clash with Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.

A win for The Gunners would widen the gap between themselves and fourth-place Manchester United in the Barclays Women’s Super League table, giving their European hopes for next season a real boost in the process.

When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Arsenal boss Eidevall said that the table is not his primary concern. He wants the focus to be on bringing the performance.

“I spend very little time looking at the table and making different scenarios,” Eidevall said. “I spend a lot of time trying to optimise our performance for Saturday and that’s where we need to put our focus. We’ll go with the mindset of trying to win the game.”

The Gunners are winless in their last five meetings with The Red Devils in all competitions but Eidevall is only looking forward towards the latest fixture.

He said “The next game is never the same as the last one. We’ve had some tough games against United but I think we’re in a very clear mindset of what we need to do on Saturday in order to bring the performance needed to win the game. It’s up to us to do it now.”

Arsenal have sold out the Emirates Stadium for the very first time for a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture and Eidevall praised the club for their efforts behind-the-scenes.

“It would not have been possible without all of the hard work that many people do across the whole club,” he said. “Of course, it’s another milestone, but I feel these milestones now happen in shorter and shorter periods of time and that’s amazing.”

Arsenal’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Manchester United kicks off at 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
