Crystal Palace defender Gibbons signs new one-year deal

Crystal Palace defender Fliss Gibbons has signed a new one-year contract with the club ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

The Eagles announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Gibbons joined Crystal Palace as the club turned full-time professional in summer 2022. The defender has gone on to make 32 appearances for the South Londoners in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she has scored one goal. Gibbons played an important role in the club’s promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League last season.

The 30-year-old has Barclays Women’s Super League experience from her spell with previous club Brighton & Hove Albion and that top level know-how will be crucial for Crystal Palace this season.

After retaining Gibbons’ services for another year, Crystal Palace’s Head of Women’s Football, Grace Williams said “We are delighted that Fliss has signed a new contract ahead of our first season in the WSL.

“We value her wealth of experience of playing at this level, and know she will be a huge asset to the team next season.”

Gibbons joins teammates Molly Sharpe and Chloe Arthur in signing a new contract with Crystal Palace ahead of their debut season in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
