Birmingham City goalkeeper Lucy Thomas has signed a new one-year contract with the club.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this morning.
Thomas joined Birmingham City in summer 2022 after leaving former club Coventry United. The player has featured in all of the Blues’ fixtures in the Barclays Women’s Championship over the course of the last two seasons. Thomas kept nine clean sheets in 22 league outings for Birmingham City last season as she narrowly missed out on the Golden Glove.
The player is a key member of Amy Merricks’ Birmingham City side and her new deal is good news for the club.
After signing on again with Birmingham City, Thomas said “I’m really pleased. This place feels like home, and I absolutely love it here. I really believe in what Amy is trying to build here and I feel like I’ve got unfinished business.
“They’ve [the first two seasons] definitely been the most enjoyable of my career and that’s what really made me want to stay here.”
Thomas is the second player to sign a new contract with Birmingham City this summer. Midfielder Lily Agg has also recently signed fresh terms with the Blues.
