Newcastle United head coach Langley signs new long-term deal

Newcastle United head coach Becky Langley has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The Magpies confirmed the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

Langley has been with Newcastle United for the last five years. She has helped guide the club up the footballing pyramid to the elite game. With Langley at the helm, the Tynesiders have won back-to-back promotions in the last two seasons and they will now play Barclays Women’s Championship football for the first time in 2024/2025.

With Newcastle United having their eyes set on reaching the Barclays Women’s Super League in the future, strong leadership will be required. The club have opted for continuity by agreeing a new deal with Langley for the long term.

After signing on again with The Magpies, Langley said “I am delighted to sign a new contract and to keep pursuing my goals at Newcastle United Football Club.

“After speaking with Paul Mitchell [Sporting Director] and Su Cumming [Head of Women’s Football] about the ambitions for the team and club, it just made my enthusiasm even greater for this exciting project.

“I will give everything to achieve our aims together and I am unapologetically ambitious for Newcastle United Women. Here’s to an exciting future.”

Newcastle United kick-off the new season with a fixture at London City Lionesses on Sunday.
