Welcome to this week’s update from the Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club.
On the pitch, we returned to winning ways with a hard fought victory over a good Birmingham City side. It was great to be back home after a particularly tough two weeks and three games on the road.
Last week, we were disappointed to exit the UEFA Champions League in Madrid. We were a bit unlucky on the night but fair play to Atletico, we wish them all the best in the rest of the tournament.
We had a number of members travel over to Spain for the match which was in a different venue to when we played them last year. Despite the result and some difficult travel issues, they still had a great trip and as ever, really enjoyed the experience.
OSC-wise we were delighted to be invited as guests to another branch of the Manchester City Supporters Club last week. The Astley and Tyldesley branch invited us to come and speak to their members on all things City Women, women’s football in general and our wonderful OSC branch. We had a great night and would once again like to take this opportunity to thank the branch for their warm welcome and interest. We actually have two more visits to other branches lined-up very soon.
We have many members heading to Wembley on Saturday for the history-making Lionesses game. We hope to meet up with our friends from other clubs and for once all sing together for our girls.
Safe travels to anyone heading down to London for the game and see you there.
