FA Women’s Super League strugglers Bristol City have completed the signing of Everton striker Elise Hughes on a loan deal for the remainder of the season according to official club media sources.
The 18-year-old has made five appearances for The Blue Girls this season but it is hoped that the player will benefit from more regular game time during her temporary stay at the Stoke Gifford Stadium.
Hughes will spend the remainder of the season with Bristol City and she is expected to fight for a regular starting place with her parent club when she returns at the end of the campaign. The forward signed her first professional terms with the Merseyside club last summer and is rated highly by Everton boss Willie Kirk.
It has been reported that Hughes is eligible to feature for Bristol City on Sunday when they take on Manchester United at the Leigh Sports Village. The player will look to bolster The Robins’ attack with the club having netted just six league goals so far this season.
Hughes is a senior international with Wales. She made her debut for Jayne Ludlow’s side in the Cyprus Cup against Switzerland in 2018. The player has since been crowned the nation’s Young Player of the Year.
