Coventry United have completed the signing of midfielder Simran Jhamat from FA Women’s Championship rivals Leicester City.
The 19-year-old has spent the last 10 months with The Foxes after joining the club from FA Women’s Super League side Liverpool where she started her career.
Jhamat leaves Farley Way having made 13 appearances for Leicester City in all competitions. New club Coventry United announced her signing on Friday afternoon shortly after revealing that defender Kate Evans had joined the club. The length of Jhamat’s contract at the Butts Park Arena has been left undisclosed.

Jhamat has top flight experience having made her senior debut for Liverpool against Brighton & Hove Albion 12 months ago. She added one further FA Women’s Super League outing to her tally for The Reds before completing the move to Leicester City last March.
Both Jhamat and Evans join a Coventry United side who are currently embroiled in a relegation battle in the FA Women’s Championship. The club are three points clear of the relegation zone, however, they have played two more games than bottom club Charlton Athletic.
The pair could go straight into the Coventry United squad for their Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
