PREVIEW: Chelsea v West Ham United

Chelsea will be hoping to build on their milestone victory over Arsenal in the FA Women’s Super League when West Ham United are the visitors to Kingsmeadow on Sunday.

The Blues defeated The Gunners 4-1 on their own turf a fortnight ago to bring the destiny of the league title back into their own hands.

This weekend, Chelsea take on a West Ham United side who are so often unpredictable. Matt Beard’s side defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 in their last outing in the FA Women’s Super League though and they will not fear the trip to Kingsmeadow especially after they took a point from the same fixture last season.

Chelsea go into the match after securing their place in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup final for the first time by beating Manchester United 1-0 at the Leigh Sports Village in midweek. The Blues are in excellent form, winning each of their last six matches in all competitions. Emma Hayes’ side have also kept back-to-back clean sheets.

The two sides were in Women’s FA Cup fourth round action last weekend and experienced very different results. Chelsea were 4-0 winners at second tier side Charlton Athletic while West Ham United lost 2-0 at home to Arsenal.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm with admission available on the day for both sets of supporters.
