Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion agree rescheduled FA Cup date

Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed to reschedule their postponed Women’s FA Cup fifth round tie for Tuesday 25 February.

The original tie was postponed yesterday following heavy rain before kick-off, just hours after Palace confirmed that they were expecting the game to go ahead.

It has now been revealed that the tie has been rescheduled for Tuesday 25 February with the match kicking-off at 7.30pm at Hayes Lane. All tickets which were purchased in advance of the original fixture will remain valid.

Dean Davenport’s side have endured a frustrating run in this season’s Women’s FA Cup. Crystal Palace were 3-0 up at Southampton Women in the fourth round before the match was abandoned with just 12 minutes remaining due to a waterlogged pitch. The Football Association harshly ruled that the tie was to be replayed with Palace coming out on top, winning the replayed tie 4-0 on neutral territory in Carshalton.

With Hayes Lane surviving the conditions brought to the United Kingdom by Storm Dennis on Saturday and into the early hours of Sunday, Crystal Palace were hopeful of their fifth round tie against Brighton & Hove Albion going ahead but the two sides suffered a frustrating late postponement following a deluge in Bromley.

The two sides will learn of their potential quarter-final opponents when the draw is made later this evening.
