North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will meet in the quarter-finals of this season’s Women’s FA Cup should they win their respective fifth round ties.
The quarter-final draw was made at 8.45pm this evening and was broadcasted live on BBC Radio 5 Live with the balls being drawn by Rachel Brown-Finnis and Micah Richards.
In the pick of the quarter-final ties, Arsenal will meet Tottenham Hotspur at Meadow Park if the two sides see off second tier opposition in Lewes and Coventry United in their fifth round ties. Crystal Palace or Brighton & Hove Albion will take on Birmingham City while Bristol City or Everton will host Chelsea who have beaten Liverpool 1-0 at Kingsmeadow in their fifth round tie earlier tonight. The final tie in the last eight sees Manchester City travel to Leicester City or Reading.
The fifth round schedule was heavily hit by Storm Dennis with ties between Arsenal and Lewes, Leicester City and Reading and Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion being postponed due to the extreme conditions. Manchester City and Birmingham City successfully booked their places into the quarter-finals with victories over Ipswich Town and Sunderland AFC while Coventry United, Tottenham Hotspur, Bristol City and Everton are all in action this evening.
