WEEKLY UPDATE: Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club #50

Welcome to this week’s update from us here at Manchester City Official Supporters’ Club.

Let me start by saying that the OSC hope that you are all well and staying safe at this difficult time. With so much uncertainty at the moment, we all realise that football, however much we miss it, is not the priority. However, as we said last week, if our social media channels and fan groups can just do our little bit to help our fans and members come through this period, then surely that can only be a good thing.

Another week has passed and the lockdown is still in full force so our online activities have been at the forefront of our minds again. Both myself and our OSC secretary Jayne, were delighted to be invited as guests on to not one but two podcasts in the last week. Firstly, Patti La Bella invited us on to the Women’s World Football Show (@WWFShowwhich is run from California and is a long-established show. Patti was putting together a City Special show which featured an exclusive interview with Janine Beckie, so she asked us on to chat about the club from a supporters’ viewpoint and to discuss all things OSC too. We really enjoyed the experience and you can hear the podcast online now.

A little closer to home, we were just as delighted to be invited on the Man City Women Fancast (@mcwfancast) last week too. This time, Emma quizzed us on how we are coping in the lockdown and our thoughts on potential ins and outs at City. Again, this episode is now online for you to have a listen to.

We have again had a few threads, flashback features, teasers and shout outs running all week on our Facebook and Twitter sites, while last Friday saw our third weekly City Women quiz go down really well on Twitter. One other project that has been ongoing is Manchester City Women OSC photographer Dave Coop’s challenge of uploading thousands of his wonderful images from City Women games and OSC functions and events to his Flickr site. We would encourage supporters to visit Dave’s site and look though his collection of wonderful photos. He is happy for you to use and enjoy his photos. There is something for everyone on there. We would just ask that if you use any, please credit Dave in them as he works very hard to take all the shots for us all to enjoy. Check them out at, it is well worth a browse.

We would like to again thank all our wonderful key workers, care staff and NHS superheroes for all the hard work and dedication that they are showing in these difficult times. I’m sure that you will again be joining in when we #ClapForOurCarers again this Thursday.

If anyone is feeling down, lonely or just wants to chat football, please get in touch with us. We will always be happy to hear from you and help in any small way if we can. Please stay at home, stay safe and stay in touch and I will be back again next week with another update.
