Birmingham City midfielder joins NWSL side Houston Dash after contract expires

National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Houston Dash have completed the signing of Birmingham City midfielder Brianna Visalli according to the American club’s official website.

The 25-year-old San Jose-born midfielder joined The Dash on a free transfer after her contract with the Barclays FA Women’s Super League club came to an end.

It has been reported that Visalli has signed a two-year deal at the BBVA Stadium, ending her two-year stay in the English game.

The player started her career in her homeland with Pepperdine University before Visalli went on to represent the Chicago Red Stars at reserve team level during the 2018 season.

In the summer of that year, Visalli joined West Ham United for their first campaign of top flight football and she was a member of The Hammers side which finished the 2018/2019 FA Women’s Super League campaign in seventh position. She featured in all 20 of her club’s league fixtures while she was a substitute as West Ham United competed in last season’s SSE Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

After her one-year deal at Rush Green expired, the midfielder joined Birmingham City on a similar arrangement. Visalli made nine appearances for the Blues in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League before the season was cut short.

The midfielder leaves the Stadium with Birmingham City having ended the 2019/2020 campaign in 11th place.
