Lewes trio agree new deals at The Dripping Pan

Lewes have today confirmed that Emma Jones, Sophie O’Rourke, and Emily Donovan have all signed new deals with the club for the 2020/2021 season.

Forward Jones joined The Rookettes from Welsh side Cardiff City in June 2019. The Welsh international made nine FA Women’s Championship appearances for the club in 2019/2020 in which she scored one goal. Prior to her move to The Dripping Pan, Jones played college football in America for Oregon State Beavers from 2014 to 2017 and then spent time with Linköpings in Sweden.

Youthful winger O’Rourke started her career at Barclays FA Women’s Super League side Reading in 2017 before a brief spell in Iceland with Grindavík. She has eventually found herself with Lewes after joining the club in 2018 making 20 appearances in the second tier.

Midfielder Donovan joined Lewes last summer and she has gone on to represent the club 19 times in all competitions so far. A graduate from University of Bath, Donovan played for England Universities during a year at Oxford and at the World University Games in Taipei for Team GB.

Nine members of Lewes’ 2019/2020 squad have now signed on for the new season. The club announced the latest deals via their official Twitter account earlier today.
