Crystal Palace have completed the signing of midfielder Leigh Nicol from FA Women’s Championship rivals Charlton Athletic according to reports on The Eagles’ official website.
The 24-year-old made seven appearances for her former club in the FA Women’s Championship in 2018/2019 before having a year out.
It has today been revealed that Nicol has swapped The Oakwood for Hayes Lane this summer with the player joining Crystal Palace. The midfielder has spent the last five years in the English capital with Nicol having also previously represented London Bees and Millwall Lionesses.
Upon signing on at Palace, Nicol told official club media sources “Signing for Palace is my proudest moment of my career so far.
“After having a year out to focus on myself I never thought this would happen. The club, players and coaches have built an amazing culture and have clear visions to be successful.
“I’m so excited to be part of this club and have loved every moment so far.”
In other news, three players have signed contract extensions with Crystal Palace. Bianca Baptiste, Ashleigh Goddard and Andria Georgiou have all signed new deals with The Eagles. Eight members of last season’s squad have now signed on for the new campaign.
