Gibraltar international midfielder set for Liverpool trial

Gibraltar international midfielder Tiffany Viagas is understood to be set to begin a trial at FA Women’s Championship club Liverpool according to reports on her former club the Lincoln Red Imps’ official club website.

The 18-year-old will soon begin to study travel and tourism at Liverpool’s John Moores University and it is understood that Viagas is keen to combine her education with a continued footballing career.

The Lincoln Red Imps have reported that the midfielder has been handed a trial with Liverpool and she will spend time trying to win a deal with the club by impressing manager Vicky Jepson.

Teenager Viagas is understood to have already represented the Gibraltar national team at senior level while she has also featured playing futsal for the nation. The midfielder is no stranger to undergoing a trial with a big club across Europe, Viagas had a spell on trial with Eredivisie-Vrouwen club FC Twente last summer and was fielded by the Dutch outfit in a pre-season friendly.

The youngster is thought to have been in the senior squad at Lincoln Red Imps from the middle of her teens while she has already accumulated a number of domestic honours from her time with the club.

Viagas is a Liverpool supporter and is expected to have a week-long trial on Merseyside.
