London Bees will be looking to return to winning ways this afternoon as they travel to Crystal Palace under new interim management.
Neither team come into the game in flying form, with both having to go back several games for their last win in all competitions. The visitors will have a new manager in charge after first team coach Sian Osmond was appointed caretaker boss on Friday with the club and former boss Lee Burch having gone their separate ways in midweek.
The Bees, who currently sit in ninth place, have conceded 10 goals against Palace in just two games this season, and will be hoping to avoid adding more to that tally at Hayes Lane this afternoon.
Osmond will certainly want her side to perform better than they did on their last visit to the ground, when they conceded six goals against The Eagles in a 6-1 defeat in the group stage of the FA Women’s Continental League Cup.
Dean Davenport’s Palace come into the match on the back of a spirited away draw at Blackburn Rovers last weekend and they will be hoping that forward Bianca Baptiste can add to her already impressive 12 goals this season. Baptiste is one of two Palace players to have scored three times against The Bees this season, with Coral-Jade Haines also managing to slot a trio of shots past their keepers.
Osmond’s side will be wary of giving away set pieces, with five of the 10 goals conceded against The Eagles this season coming from dead ball situations.
A win for Palace would see them rise eight points clear of their opponents with six games left to play. Defeat for The Bees could have big consequences, as they sit just one point off the bottom of the table, with the two teams below both having games in hand.
The FA Women’s Championship fixture between Crystal Palace and London Bees is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm and will be available for fans to watch live on the FA Player.
