Prolific goalscorer Katie Wilkinson is leaving Sheffield United after two seasons with the club.
The 26-year-old joined The Blades from London Bees in summer 2019 and she has been one of the shining lights for the South Yorkshire club.
Wilkinson has netted 33 goals in just 34 FA Women’s Championship games in a Sheffield United shirt, topping the league’s goalscoring charts in both of her seasons with the club.
With the 2020/2021 season now over, Wilkinson took to Twitter last night to confirm that she will be leaving Sheffield United this summer.

Wilkinson’s departure adds to the number of attacking players leaving The Technique Stadium this summer. Keri Matthews, Jade Pennock and Melissa Johnson had already confirmed their Sheffield United exits prior to teammate Wilkinson’s announcement. Head coach Neil Redfearn is sure to now dip into the transfer market and bring in a couple of experienced new attacking options for next season.
Sheffield United will be looking to mount a promotion push in 2021/2022 after falling short this season. The Blades started the campaign strongly but were ultimately undone by a loss of form in late autumn into early winter which saw them win just once in six league games. They ended the season in fourth place, 12 points adrift of champions Leicester City.
