Former Crystal Palace defender Ffion Morgan has joined Bristol City according to reports on The Robins’ official website.
The 21-year-old Welsh international full-back left Palace earlier this summer and therefore moves to her new club on a free transfer.
Morgan returns to the club which she served between 2015 and 2018 in their academy system. Since leaving Bristol City, Morgan has gained FA Women’s Championship experience with both Coventry United and latest club Palace after spending a short spell with Cardiff City.
After sealing her Bristol City return, Morgan said “I’m grateful and excited by the opportunity to join Bristol City and link up with Lauren (Smith) again after working closely with her at international level.
“This is my first deal with a full-time club, which is a big step for me and will allow me to fully focus on my football and become the best player possible on the pitch.
“From experience, I know the Championship is a very competitive league with a lot of strong teams, and I’m determined to contribute to success on the pitch and help the club achieve their ambitions.”
Morgan made 17 appearances for former club Palace in the FA Women’s Championship last season. The player will now have her sights set on pushing on towards to top end of the league table with new club Bristol City.
