Everton keeper Pedersen joins London City Lionesses

Everton goalkeeper Anna Pedersen has completed a move to FA Women’s Championship club London City Lionesses according to reports on The Pride’s official website.

The 19-year-old England youth international is yet to make her senior debut but she has been named on the bench during her time at Walton Hall Park.

Pedersen was named in Everton’s matchday squad for last season’s draws with Reading, providing cover for senior goalkeepers Tinja-Riikka Korpela and Sandy MacIver. The player also made the bench for a couple of games in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup.

The teenager has today signed a professional contract with London City Lionesses and she will challenge first choice goalkeeper Shae Yanez for the number one jersey at Princes Park this term.

After signing for The Pride, Pedersen said “I feel honoured and delighted to have signed my first professional contract for LCL. After speaking to Mel (Phillips), it was clear the club has a great vision, aspirations and values that I definitely wanted to be involved in. I can’t wait to get going.”

Pedersen becomes London City Lionesses head coach Melissa Phillips’ eighth signing of the summer as the Dartford-based club’s 2021/2022 playing squad continues to grow at a rapid pace.
