Former Arsenal defender Louise Quinn has returned to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League with the player having today joined Birmingham City on a two-year deal according to reports on the Blues’ official website.
The experienced Republic of Ireland international defender has most recently been playing her football in Italy with Fiorentina.
Last season saw Quinn make 20 Serie A appearances in total while she weighed in with three goals. The player will bring European club football experience with her to new club Birmingham City with Quinn having represented both Arsenal and Fiorentina in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
After completing her Barclays FA Women’s Super League return, Quinn said “I am really happy to be back in the WSL and to join a club like Birmingham. It is brilliant to be back and I’m looking forward to getting going.
“What the Club offers, what it does and what it believes in, it is a battling team and I’m an Irish girl who’s always up for a battle.
“When the offer came around I just thought it was a great opportunity for me.”
Quinn becomes Birmingham City’s second new addition of the summer transfer window. She follows former Sheffield United forward Jade Pennock to St Andrew’s.
