PREVIEW: Birmingham City v Everton

Birmingham City will be hoping to keep their slim Barclays FA Women’s Super League survival hopes alive when they face Everton at St Andrew’s  on Friday evening.

The Blues are eight points adrift of safety with just five games remaining but Darren Carter’s side will keep fighting until it is mathematically impossible to survive.

Birmingham City go into their match without a number of players through injury and COVID-19 self-isolation protocols. Head coach Carter has confirmed that he will include some of the club’s young players in his squad. Arabella Suttie, Cecilie Sandvej, Sarah Ewens and Emily Whelan are amongst those players who are thought to be definitely out while Harriet Scott, Jade Pennock and Lucy Whipp were the other players missing from the squad which faced Chelsea last time out.

Everton travel to the Midlands without forward Anna Anvegård who is no closer to returning following concussion. Danish international Nicoline Sørensen continues to recover from her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury but Everton’s interim manager Chris Roberts has confirmed that the player is a long way from fitness.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Birmingham City and Everton kicks-off at 7pm on Friday evening. Tickets will be available on the day from the ticket office at St Andrew’s.
