Charlton Athletic winger Emma Follis has signed a one-year contract extension with the club according to reports on The Addicks’ official website.
The 30-year-old Sutton Coldfield-born attacker joined the South East Londoners last summer after leaving Barclays Women’s Super League club Aston Villa. Follis made 16 appearances for Charlton Athletic in this season’s Barclays Women’s Championship while she scored five goals. The winger ended the campaign as The Addicks’ joint-top scorer in the league alongside forward Elise Hughes.
Follis has become one of Charlton Athletic’s most important players and the club have therefore moved quickly to agree a new one-year contract extension with her.
After signing on again with the South East Londoners, Follis said “I’m really looking forward to the new season. I want to kick on from last year and try and help to team improve and be successful.”
After a slow start to the summer, Charlton Athletic’s off-field work is gathering some pace. The Addicks have now agreed fresh terms with three players – Lauren Bruton, Ella Rutherford and winger Follis. Further contract renewals are expected while head coach Karen Hills will be making a number of summer additions with her squad currently very short on numbers following a wave of departures.
