Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Welsh international midfielder Angharad James on a free transfer according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 28-year-old moves to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after leaving former club Orlando Pride earlier this week. The player has penned a two-year contract with The Lilywhites while the club hold an option to extend the deal by a further year.
James has a wealth of experience in the English game. She started out at Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal before going on to represent Bristol City, Notts County, Yeovil Town, Everton and Reading. The player moved to the United States in 2021 and joined North Carolina Courage before enjoying a short spell with Orlando Pride.
After adding James to her squad, Spurs head coach Rehanne Skinner said “I am pleased to welcome Haz to the Club, having previously worked together at Arsenal and the Wales national team. She is a very experienced midfielder who will add quality to the team both in and out of possession. Her growth and impact on the pitch has been evident and we feel she will thrive in our style of play.”
James’ arrival in North London comes just 24 hours after Spurs completed the signing of Polish international forward Nikola Karczewska.
