Chelsea have announced the news that they will play at Stamford Bridge on at least seven occasions this season.
The Blues confirmed the news via a post on their official club website this morning.
It has been revealed that Chelsea will play four of their 11 home Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures at Stamford Bridge, more games than ever before, while the club will also stage their three UEFA Women’s Champions League home group games at the venue. Should The Blues advance from the group stage, it is highly-likely that home ties in the knockout rounds will also be played in SW6.
Fans are being given plenty of options when it comes to ticketing for the upcoming season. The club are offering a ticket package for the four Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures to be played at Stamford Bridge while there will also be a three-game option for the UEFA Women’s Champions League nights ‘under the lights’. Season tickets will also be sold for home matches at Kingsmeadow with fans being given the option to add in the Stamford Bridge fixtures.
Today’s news comes after Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal enjoyed significant growth by playing an increased number of games at the Emirates Stadium last season. The Gunners’ home Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures at the Emirates Stadium were the subject of huge ticket demand while their UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final, second leg tie against VfL Wolfsburg was a sell-out.
