PREVIEW: Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal will be hoping to complete an FA Women’s Super League double over North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur when they two sides meet in-front of a capacity crowd at Meadow Park this afternoon.

The Gunners won 2-0 at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the reverse fixture in November thanks to goals from Kim Little and Vivianne Miedema.

The pair meet in Boreham Wood for the first time in the FA Women’s Super League this afternoon, subject to the fixture beating Storm Ciara.

Arsenal go into this afternoon’s fixture in desperate need of a return to winning ways. Joe Montemurro’s side were defeated 2-1 by Manchester City at The Academy Stadium last weekend, a result which has left them with work to do if they are to retain the FA Women’s Super League title.

Tottenham Hotspur have not played in a fortnight with last weekend’s home fixture against Bristol City postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at The Hive. They defeated lower league opposition in Barnsley 5-0 in their last outing in the Women’s FA Cup while they were defeated 3-0 at Manchester United in their last FA Women’s Super League match.

Fans are advised to check Arsenal official social media channels ahead of the match with stormy conditions forecast in Boreham Wood.
