Welcome to this week’s Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club update.
As usual, I would like to start by saying that I hope you are all keeping well and as life begins to return to a semblance of normality for some, special thoughts to those still having to shield.
The reason why our update is a little later this week is because we have been very busy getting our 2020 OSC Yearbook ready to send off to the printers. Renowned City author Andrew Waldon has again compiled the book and anyone who wants to register an interest in ordering one can reserve a copy by contacting us on Twitter. I will be doing a separate preview of the book on the website over the weekend.
In other news, we of course announced our OSC Player of the Season last week with Lauren Hemp edging out Ellie Roebuck and Janine Beckie in our closest and biggest vote ever. Lauren contacted us to say thanks and how thrilled she was to win. It is a little disappointing to not be able to present our trophy to her straight away but it is understandable given our situation at the moment. We will present her with the trophy, complete with her name engraved on it whenever it is safe to do so next season.
Our members who are season ticket holders or had purchased tickets for the scheduled remaining games have been receiving their refunds this week and we thank the club for this.
Our online interactions have proved to be as engaging as ever this week as we have been featuring flashbacks, spot the differences (courtesy of our member Peter Simpson) and wallpapers created by our own Dave Coop.
On another note, with the Barclays FA Women’s Super League transfer window opening today, we have been gauging fans’ dream signings and transfer wish-lists. I’m sure that there will be plenty for our members to discuss on this topic throughout the summer.
Stay safe everyone and I’ll be back again next week.
